Gardening helps to improve mental health and well being

With the rising concerns over mental health issues affecting people of all ages and all walks of life…..who would have thought that gardening has been found to have extensive benefits, all ages and abilities can take part and enjoy their garden. Regular gardening can reduce mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, it can also help reduce stress levels and tackle high blood pressure. Finally, once the desired task is completed it can give a sense of achievement which in turn can help the body to release endorphins, also known as the happy hormone.

“Gardens are not made by singing, ‘Oh, how beautiful,’ and sitting in the shade,” (Rudyard Kipling). Get stuck in and enjoy your garden.
